Correctly interpreting and reporting medical procedures and services begins with CPT 2013 Standard Edition. Straight from the American Medical Association (AMA), this is the only CPT codebook with the official CPT coding rules and guidelines developed by the CPT Editorial Panel. Covers hundreds of code, guidelines and text changes.
Key Features/Benefits: Improved, comprehensive index has been revised and enhanced for 2013 to aid in locating codes related to a specific procedure, service, anatomic site, condition, synonym, eponym, or abbreviation.
An expansion of the pathology and laboratory index entries includes analytes and the elimination of redundancy throughout the rest of the index resulting in an index clearer and quicker to search. New listing of proprietary test names for multi-analyte assays puts you ahead of the curve by informing you of existing tests that have yet to meet all of the necessary requirements to be placed among the Category I codes. Summary of additions, deletions and revisions to provide a quick reference to 2013 changes without having to refer to previous editions. Clinical examples for E/M services codes assist in learning how to use and report services.
Fourteen appendixes offer you a quick reference to additional information and resources that cover such topics as modifiers, clinical examples, add-on codes and vascular families.
The latest procedure coding book for psychiatric services is the 2013 CPT Standard Edition published by the AMA. Most procedure codes are changing come January 1, 2013. I sprang for the heavy volume so I could consult it as needed rather than rely on the abbreviated “crosswalks” that have been shared among colleagues. This is a good resource, but it seems very overpriced to me. But, such as life. One doesn’t buy these often in one’s career, so have at it. If you bill insurance companies for your services, or if you keep detailed records, and we all should, you need the correct codes. Enough said.
I love the way this coding manuel is put together. Very easy to find what I am looking for. I have tried others, but always came back to purchasing this one. I would recommend everyone to try it, especially new coders, it is much easier to reference your codes with many illustrations.
Just got my book in today and ordered it only days ago… at night! I was surprised to see this one delivered 5 days earlier than stated on my confirmation. Very happy about the speedy delivery. Book is brand new. It was wrapped in sealed plastic and came in a box. I’m taking a billing and coding course so its one of the many books required and the price was the lowest I found for a new book compared to any other sites or stores. Can’t wait to study some codes!
I purchased this book for school. I think this was a new book; if not it should have been. The best part was that I got this book before the expected due date – way to go!!
